| In recent years, during construction of railway in the Southwest mountain area, we encountered the soft and weak soil that distributes on the slope and is similar with physical mechanical index of soft soil of marine deposit, lake deposit, etc., but different in cause of formation, scope of distribution, composition of mass and others characteristics. To emphasize its characteristics of distribution, we call it as "soft soil on the slope". At present, few research datum about characteristics of this soft and weak soil are made at home and abroad, and less relevant engineering measures are taken. With increase of construction such as railway, highway etc. in the Southwest mountain area, it is necessary to have a farther study in this aspect. Aiming at this current condition, on the basis of comprehensive technical literature for soft base treatment at home and abroad, and in combination with construction of Nei-Kun railway and Zhu-Liu railway, the overall introduction has been made of engineering characteristics and treatment measures of soft soil on the slope. Concrete study includes:1. Detailed analysis of formation cause and effect of environmental factors.2. Introduction of characteristics such as expansiveness (expandability, expansibility), rheology and thixotropy ,etc. of soft soil on the slope by contrast analysis of soft soil of marine deposit, lake deposit.3. Stability study of effect of rheology on the slope, test and analysis of long-term strength of soft soil on the slope.4. Study of settlement calculation of soft soil on the slope and calculation methods of side slopestability.5. Engineering measures for pre-consolidation and treatment of cut soft foundation with high pressure jet grouting pile or anti-slide pile are presented, together with Engineering measures for consolidation of inclined soft embankment foundation with gravel pile and lateral restrained pile , and the methods of design, construction are also introduced in detail.6. Brief introduction of engineering case for treatment of bridge and culvert soft foundation with gravel pile and of tunnel soft foundation with high-pressure jet grouting pile. |
