Along with the quick development of auto industry, the oil is in short supply and the pollution of the environment becomes the most serious problem that should be solved immediately. Presently, the vehicle emission has become the main source of ai r pollution in large or middle scale city. It is assumed that the fuel waste of the traditional vehicle is mainly caused by frequently braking, the irrational engine loads, the long idle running and the bad velocity state in periodical working process. In order to eliminate or decrease the fuel waste, the power transmission system must be changed or improved by developing energy-saving driving system.The automobile control system is one of the most important technology of energy-saving driving system. In this thesis, several control strategies have been analyzed and one control system design i s presented. The AT89C52 serves as the center of the automatic control system's hardware, it doesn't extend RAM and ROM. Microprocessor I/O is the serial interface chip, making the system simplified and reliability in creased. The state and seat of throttle, gear selection brake and the rotates speed of engine are the parameters. The software of automatic control system uses the structural program language-"C51" to design, and the program is divided into main routine module and each subroutine.
