The problems with traditional Finite Element Programming (FEP) can be solved by Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), This paper introduces the implement method of object-oriented finite elementprogramming using VC ++ 6.0,with an example of universal bar system analysis. Some typical classes of FEP has been identified and defined, the program can run successfully in both console and graphic environment. The features of OOP such as inheritance, encapsulation and polymorphism are all fully applied in this programming.Above studies have shown that the effectiveness of OOP method is indisputable in the structural analysis. Furthermore, related papers have shown that OOFEP has great superior, compared with the traditional FEP (usually in Fortran). Our program by OOP is more structured, more easily to be written, more easily to be maintained, expanded and more reusable. OOP gives a good approach for the development of large-scale finite element analysis software system. It is not a target of this paper to develop a general structural analysis program or structural CAD package. This paper put stress on the effectiveness and implement pattern of OOP method in structural analysis programming.Considing the time is not enough to develop a large program, the author just shown the implement of bar system analysis by OOP. However, the OOP method is provided with very powerful expansibility and maintainability.it is not difficult to include more functional modules or class modules, to extend the program performance. The method shown in this paper can be applied to general software develop practice for structural analysis and structual design(CAE or CAD).
