Recently, the ground source heat pump system (GSHPS) has been studied and applied more widely and more deeply in our country. Because of its characteristics of highly energy saving, environment protection and operational efficiency. At present, it is a focus or a hotspot in the internal domain of HV&AC(heating ventilating and air conditioning). In this dissertation, the operational characteristics of GSHPS is taken as the main objective of research, emphasized on the heat source and cold source, based on GSHPS experimental system which has been set up in HIAST ( Hebei Institute of Architecture Science and Technology) .The theoretical and experimental work on the operational characteristics of GSHPS with a U-tube underground vertical pipe loop has been accomplished both under winter operational condition and summer operational condition. The main contents of the research are as follows:1. The theoretical analysis on the operational characteristics of GSHPSTaking into consideration of the characteristics that taking soil as the heat source and cold source, by means of thermodynamic methods, the theoretical research on the operational changing patterns of GSHPS with a scroll compressor using R22 as refrigerant has been conducted. First of all, the performance analysis of the hermetically sealed scroll compressor unit has been done, and after that, the performance analysis of GSHPS which of different operational parameters has been made both under winter operational condition and summer operational condition.2. Experimental Research on operational characteristics of GSHPSThe experimental system of GSHPS has been set up,which consist of two 120m deep drilled wells and four 100m deep drilled wells. The U-tube vertical pipe loop was inserted into the two 120m deep boreholes, and other four 100m deep drilled wells are auxiliary well for temperature testing. The cooling capacity of R22 scroll compressor is 21.8 kW at the ARI standard rating condition. The well arranged experimental system and the data acquisition and handing system can meet the needs of GSHPS experiments under various operational conditions in different seasons. Experiments on operational characteristics of GSHPS with R22 were conducted under winter condition and the summer condition respectively. The changing patterns of temperature field around the underground vertical U-tube pipe loop, the heat exchanging characteristics between underground vertical U-tube pipe loop and soil, and the cycle performance of GSHPS were detected in detail, the experimental results are well summarized and analyzed.The operational characteristics with the different operational parameters, with different terminal cooling load of air conditioning system, with different heat exchange characteristics between underground U-tube pipe loop and soil, etc. have been studied. The operational characteristics of GSHPS within starting period, normal period and the period of variable operation patterns under different seasonal conditions has also been studied.Base on all the work above, the normal operational patterns of GSHPS both in winter and in summer can be summarized, the heat transfer rate of the underground heat exchanger of the GSHPS, can we obtained. The basic rules regulations for further research and system design of GSHPS can be set up.
