It has been a general trend that floor heating system with air source heat pump will be applied to residential heating in Hot Summer and Cold Winter Zone, but it also encountered some problems. Therefore, an experimental research on floor heating system with air source heat pump was carried out in this paper to study the operating characteristics of air source heat pump unit and the heating effect of the system The problems that the system encountered in the practical application and the optimization of matching air source heat pump with floor heating system were analyzed in detail. The energy efficiency and economical efficiency of floor heating system with air source heat pump were also analyzed. It was concluled that air source heat pump should be used instead of wall-mounted gas boiler as the heat source of floor heating system.Firstly, it was pointed out that floor heating system with air source heat pump provided a good idea for residential heating in Hot Summer and Cold Winter Zone. The system with cold and heat source in form of air source heat pump not only can meet the need of air conditioning in summer, but also can supply hot water for radiant floor heating system in winter. The general situation of recent domestic and international research results were also comprehensively analyzed in this paper.Secondly, an experimental platform of floor heating system with air source heat pump was established. The system was tested respectively in the conditions of different weather, different operation modes, different flow rates, and the operating characteristics of the system were studied. The results of the experiment indicated that the heating effect of the floor heating system with air source heat pump was good and the system performance was restricted by many factors. The experimental research pointed out the direction of optimization design for floor heating system with air source heat pump.Thirdly, it was pointed out that optimization of floor heating system with air source heat pump can save energy remarkably. The stability of the system should be ensured, on the other hand, the match of air source heat pump and floor heating system should be optimized. In this paper, the problem of the unit frequently starting and the problem of defrosting were mainly analyzed according to the operation characteristics of the system. Matching floor heating system with different heat sources was analyzed from the aspects of water temperature, water flow rates and heat transfer quantity. In the floor heating system with wall-mounted gas boiler, what the system uses for heating is small-flow, high-temperature hot water, sparse pipes can meet the requirement of heating; but in the floor heating system with air source heat pump, what the system uses for heating is large-flow, low-temperature hot water, only dense pipes can meet the requirement of heating.Finally, the energy efficiency and economical efficiency of floor heating system with air source heat pump were analyzed, and it was compared to floor heating system with wall-mounted gas boiler. It was concluled that floor heating system with air source heat pump should be introduced, because the energy consumption and annual operating costs of the system are lower than floor heating system with wall-mounted gas boiler, although its initial investment is slightly higher. The COP of the air source heat pump unit has a significant impact on the energy consumption and the costs, so the COP of the air source heat pump unit should be improved.
