At first, the important influence of the power plants and the danger of the built dams are expatiated in the social economy in this paper. The application and development of the back analysis and the back analysis of displacement are introduced and the research results of the field in our country and on the world are summarized. The feasibility of applying the back analysis of displacement to back analysis the mechanical parameters in the dams are proposed.Secondly, the general situation and the inner observed systems of Manwan are introduced. The calculation of this paper is based on these observed data and the validity and preciseness of these data is very important to the result, so that the method dealing of these data is bring forward. The observed information is fully analyzed, therefore we can confirm that the present running state of Manwan hydroelectric power plant is elastic state. The built model is very important to carry through the later calculation. The simplify of model, the selection of element type, the attainment of the basic parameters of material, the condition of boundary and restriction and so on is disposed. The model is verified after the employment.Based on the basic function of FEA, the iterated formula of modulus of elasticity is deduced through mathematical method as deviation control rule. The second exploitation is made on ANSYS and the procedure of building model and calculation is complied using ANSYS Parameter Design Language-APDL. The procedure has finished thirty-eight times calculation. The results and attain some rule are analyzed. The results of the calculation indicate that the modulus of elasticity of Manwan dam has entered the attenuation moment after increase and the attenuation will gradually lessen. At last, on the basis of analysis result the conclusion is drawn and the useful recommendation and perspectives are put forward.
