| In order to prevent seepage in stone masonry arch dams, the dam body is usually composed of different materials. Because different materials have different elastic modulus, we named this kind of dam different elastic modulus dam. Now the finite element method can solve the stress analysis problem of such dam, but another main stress analysis method called load distribution method of arches and cantilevers usually ignores the high elastic modulus of the concrete seepage proof plate, and treats the dam as a homogeneous one in stress calculation. In fact, the stress distribution of the dam with different elastic modulus possesses specific regularity, so it's necessary to research it deeply.At first, the fundamental principle of load distribution method of arches and cantilevers is introduced in the paper. On the basis of the principle, area transformation of reinforcing steel in reinforced concrete is brought forward to deal with the different elastic modulus. Namely, cross profiles of different materials are magnified by a ratio of the modulus. And the dam body is regarded as a homogeneous one and analyzed. Then the result should be multiplied by the forenamed ratio in different parts. According to the method, stress calculation formulas and relevant parameter calculation for three types of different elastic modulus arch dams are derived. In order to correspond with the design code, the three types of impermeable structure adopted in stone masonry arch dam are seepage proof facing plate upstream, concrete cut-off wall in dam body, and dam body between grouted rag faces.In this paper, the load distribution method of arches and cantilevers considering different modulus of elasticity computer program is written for researching the stress distribution regularity. And a stone masonry arch dam with the forenamed three types of seepage prevention is analyzed respectively as an example. In addition, the dam which has seepage proof facing plate upstream is analyzed by finite element method, and the result is similar to the one of the load distribution method of arches and cantilevers. The results both indicates that stress distribution is like a ladder, stresses of the main masonry decrease, and the objects of high elastic modulus bear so much force in some section that they have marked structural function which can't be ignored.At last, the main work and conclusions of this paper are summarized, and some problems and some aspects that should be further researched are put forward. |
