| Environment protection and energy source shortage are the two subjects in 21st century's Green Revolution. As the key role of vehicle revolution, the electrical motorcycle drive system has many shortcomings such as low energy efficiency, short running distance within once charge, etc.I n this paper, based on studying the traditional bi-directional energy converters of DC drives, a novel energy saved electrical motorcycle AC drive is presented. This new-style drive composes of a ZCZVS Boost bi-directional DC/DC converter and a variable voltage variable frequency(VVVF) inverter which drives a mouse cage asynchronous motor. When the motorcycle is braking or slowing down, the kinetic and /or potential energy is fed back to the battery, so the running distance can be extended and the energy efficiency is improved. An asynchronous motor is employed in this new system which can overcome the traditional DC drive system bugs and to reduce the cost and maintenance. In addition, the switches of DC/DC converter switch under zero current and zero voltage conditions, which can also reduce the switch losses, electro magnetic interference (EMI) and prolong its life. And in order to predigest topology structure and save space, an intelligent power module is used. Therefore, all of the above have improved the drive reliability and performance-cost ratio, etc.Furthermore, the operation discipline of this new drive is illustrated in detail and the topology and its parameters calculation are also presented. Finally, A 300W pattern is manufactured to simulate and test the new drive. As a result, this drive has good performances. It can be well applied to those motorcycles working under frequent accelerating/ decelerating and braking down in many scenery places and mountain cities. |
