Shipment traffic usually is heavy in littoral area, the navigation capability is required in many riverway.Navigation lock was set to suit for the water level's variety caused by tide. For a long period ,being lack of the quantified assessment on the influence of saltwater intrusion, approaches that freshwater is inpoured to the lock chamber are adopted lest the high concentration salt water be imported to the inland waterway, when the navigation lock is in operation. But such manner should not be reasonale enough. Supposed various operation conditions accoding to results acquired in the simulation, the lock is scheduled to optimized its operation. In this paper, numerical simulation on salt water drairming straightly to inland waterway is based on the engineering instance about Yaojiang lock in Ningbo city. The field of saltwater concentration is attained at any position and any time. The contents and original points of view are as follows:1. The complete depth-averaged tubulence model is adopted to compare with the tradional depth-averaged model. The non-uniformity of velocity in Z Axis is considered in the former. The rigid-lid assumption, which was adopted for long time,is discarded, while the transpot equation of kinetic energy of dispersion is introduced.the 2D term's distribution of space-time is calculated. Such model characterizes quasi-3D accuracy as well as the convenience of 2D computation.2. The distribution of velocity and concentration field are gained by numerically simulating the pulsed non-steady flow field of riverway equipped with navigation lock, after salt water is drained it into.3. The method simulating the turbulence diffusion of salt water numerically in inland river and its objective control is presented as new technical approach tooptimize the littoral ship lock. Moreover, a given instance is calculated and analyzed, then, its optimal efficacy is verified.4.The creative conception of "part-contamination-permitted inland river" is adopted. As a result, scheduling and hydraulic design of ship lock can be optimized.
