Combining High Voltage New Technology and Power Electronics Technology, this paper developed a Controllable Steep Pulse Generator (CSPG) that can control the energy of output pulse accurately. Applied with this generator, a lot of cell experiments and animal experiments were carried out. Based on these works, it's easier to research mechanism of Irreversible Electrical Breakdown (IREB) of malignant tumor cell under steep pulse, and it may be helpful to generalize Energy Controllable Steep Pulse Therapy (ECSPT) on cancer treatment.At first, produce direct current high voltage by Switching Power Supply (SPS). Then, control this voltage to charge a capacitor through a resistor. Discharge the capacitor to a load after it has charged fully enough, and this produces an Exponential Decay Pulse (EDP) on the load. Adjusting digital potentiometer in controlling circuits of SPS and capacitor charging and discharging circuit separately with Industry Control Computer (ICC), the peak value and repeat frequency of output pulse can be adjusted separately. Controlling relays to choose different capacitors with ICC, the width of output pulse can be adjusted.Then, applied with CSPG, cell experiments on human's ovarian adenocarcinoma SKOV3 cells were carried out. The result shows that steep pulse can kill and wound malignant tumor cell effectively. It can restrain DNA synthesis in cell cycle, so cancer cell multiplication is restrained. Finally, applied with CSPG, animal experiments on BALB/C mice inoculated with cervical squama cancer were carried out. The result shows that steep pulse can kill and wound malignant tumor cell effectively. It can restrain the growth of tumor tissue and prolong survival time of the mice obviously. The laboratory debugging result and medical experiments results both show that CSPG has excellent performance, and it satisfied the needs of medical experiments fully and got the expected goal successfully. This provides the foundation for applying ECSPT on clinical cancer treatment. In addition, these medical experiments results also show that the future of ECSPT is quite optimistic.
