Because of the worsening of energy resource and the requirement of motor manufacturers to enlarge their profit, to increase motor's efficiency and reduce the cost of effective material are more and more considered in recent years. At the same time, to continually improve the level of computer aided motor design is still an important focus. On the base of former research, this thesis discussed the methods of electromagnetic design of the most widely applied motor - three-phase induction motor, and by the use of modern optimization algorithm, provided a new way to solve this problem. The main contents of the thesis are:(1) It deeply discussed the method of applying the accurate equivalent circuit to the electromagnetic design of three-phase induction motors, and made some improvement. In the testing of examples, the error of the result through the accurate equivalent circuit was reduced by 29.7% averagely, compared with the result through the simplified equivalent circuit.(2) It researched the computer aided comprehensive design method of three-phase induction motor, such as how to decide the guage of wire, how to decide the size of slots and more importantly, how to adjust the scheme automatically. The results of the real examples showed that the comprehensive design program can provide feasible schemes, which satisfied with the criterion of performance and technics.(3) It analyzed the merit and the shortcoming of simulated annealing algorithm. Aim at the deficiency-the tardiness of the algorithm, it provided a new method -improved simulated annealing algorithm to improve this algorithm and concrete method to realize this thought. Then the new method was used to three classic mathematic functions. It can be seen from the results that the new method can save computing time by 52.7%, at the condition of same computing precision.(4) On the base of analysis to the design feature of three-phrase induction motors, it applied the improved simulated annealing algorithm to the electromagnetic design of three-phase induction motors. From the result, it can be seen that, so far as the motor examples, the average cost of effective material was reduced by 13.28% and the efficiency was increased by 1.31 %.(5) It provided an universal electromagnetic design software about three-phase induction motors, so that the all above-mentioned methods can be realized.
