In many large plants such as chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical plants and power plants there are numerous rotating machines operating at the same time to guarantee the normal production. These machines constitute a machine group. The failure of any one in the machine group will influence the production process. Therefore not only is the operation state of an individual machine essential but that of whole machine group as well. To this end, it is necessary to develop a condition monitoring and fault diagnosing system for machine group. This paper describes the development of the condition monitoring and fault diagnosing system of group of rotating machinery-CAMDG9000.The connection of one analysis server and some monitoring clients through intranet forms this distributed system. The configuration derived from the client/server makes the double save data possible. The method of dynamic deleting redundant data of the trend data base saves much hardware room. Apply-Answer mechanics based on TCP agreement, copying memory technology and contrived partition technology improve veracity, integrality and real-time property of the system. Fault diagnosing strategy conveniences diagnosis, and to some degree avoids the omission or mistakes of diagnosis. And in the system, the combination of the traditional data analysis method and forward and backward whirl analysis method improves the veracity and reliability of fault diagnosing. The condition monitoring and fault diagnosing system has been applied in laboratory experiments. The results show that the system is suitable and effective in condition monitoring and fault diagnosing of rotating machine group.
