The thesis is devoted to exploiting a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) for the parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Three parts are included as follows:At first, in the electromotor state, the current control strategies of PMSM are determined. Giving the elementary method for solving the contradiction between enhancing the PMSM's flux-weakening capability in the electromotor state and reducing the PMSM's connatural adjustment ratio in the dynamotor state.The exploitation of PMSM used for PHEV is researched in the second part. For increasing the effective material peak-value power (EMPVP), solving the contradiction between enhancing the PMSM's flux-weakening capability in the electromotor state and reducing the PMSM's connatural adjustment ratio in the dynamotor state and improving the efficiency of the PMSM, some solving method are taken as follows: The influence of length/diameter ratio to the EMPVP is analyzed, and the optimum size of length and diameter is chosen. The influence of separating magnetic flux method of rotor with U's and tangential permanent magnet to the pole-to-pole leakage factor is analyzed by finite element method (FEM), and given the rule of design. Given some cautions on how to decrease the noise and vibration. For reducing the temperature of the motor, the water-cover is added to the stator frame. When the cooling water flows in the cover, it can cool the motor. The frame of designing the PMSM used in PHEV with field-circuit method and the method of calculation for adjustment-speed performance of PMSM are given. The common method of enhancing the efficiency is given, such as decreasing the iron loss, copper loss and machine loss. From above all, a PMSM used for PHEV is designed and manufactured.At last, the components of the control system of PMSM are introduced and studied; the hardware structure and the software procedure are given. The single chip microcomputer (80C196KC) is chosen as the prime-controlling chip of the control system. The digital simulation model of the PMSM used for PHEV is given and the simulation software isprogrammed in Matlab. Then simulation of PMSM system in the different working state is done. Finally, the PMSM is verified to be of well performances by experiment.
