Since 1990s, the influence of energy and environmental factors on the human beings and society becomes more important. Whereas, current electric vehicles are not competent for long travel distance and low price, therefore, a novel and effective solution is needed to balance the energy consumption and the sustainable development. Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is a new technology developed to meet this demand.Based on DSP for hybrid electric vehicle, this paper is mainly about control system of PMSM. Four parts are included in the paper as follows:Firstly, the control system of some common motor is analyzed; combined with the requirement of HEV driver, the advantage of the PMSM as the drive motor of the HEV is pointed out.Secondly, considering the power supply and the requirement of the high torque, the maximum ratio of torque to current control method is used when the motor working at low speed, while field-weakening control method is used at high speed; and the relation formula of the current and the torque is described. A new maximum power field-weakening control method is proposed, and the current control method during the whole speed range is given.Last but not least, the control method simulation has been done with Matlab/Simulink; and the step response curve and the torque characteristic curve meet the high performance of the HEV. In the end, the hardware circuit of the control system is designed and experimental results show that the system measure up.
