The current field in the centrifugal pump, which includes entrance pipe, impeller, volute and outlet pipe, is simulated and analyzed in this paper, and the solid particle trajectory is computed by using Lagrange Method under the flow field. Some conclusions about the particle trajectory are given and validated by the engineering practices. The main achievements are listed as follows:After building the model of pump and partitioning the grids, the flow fields under some work conditions including design condition are calculated by solving the N-S equation group with developed κ-εmodel. The algorithm of SIMPLEC is used to correct the compression. Computing about five work conditions of slurry pump, the fields of velocity, compression and turbulence intensity are obtained, and the pump performance curves are also achieved to check the computation credence.Based on the results of flow fields, particle tracks in varied conditions are achieved by using Lagrange Method. The results are given visualized. Some particle motion patterns are given involving the effect of particle diameter, density and work conditions, as so on.The work of this paper will be helpful to understand the flow in slurry pump and the trajectory of solid particles; the motion patterns given in paper can explain some phenomena about abrasion in slurry pump and also prepare the further development of solid-liquid two phase flow well.
