With the rapid development of urbanization and the raising of consciousness of ecological environment, microtunnelling which is a kind of Trenchless Technology is applied increasingly and its market is becoming expanded in our country. The thesis mainly studies the method and equipment of Auger-Bore microtunnelling based on the research of microtunnelling. Through summing up some practical construction experiences, the thesis presents three items of preparation work before construction. After comprehending deeply all kinds of soils and the course of jacking,moreover analyzing the load applied to the jacking pipe during the pipe jacking operation, the thesis finds the main factors influencing the jacking force. Also the thesis gives a practical equation to calculate the jacking force in contrast to other former equations. Under certain geography conditions, the thesis designs an Auger-Bore microtunnelling system in which the internal diameter of jacking pipe is 400 mm and the pipe is driven under a soil cover of less than 4m. The system consists of five parts, such as shield,jacking & boring system,soil conveying system,measuring & steering system and lubricant injecting system. Specifically, as to each part, the thesis respectively makes structure & principle designs, calculates the values of some parameters, selects some components ,does some checked calculations and gives a local structure drawing.
