The power quality in electric power system has important influence on the performance, efficiency and life-span of electrical equipment. Monitoring the power quality can grasp the power quality state of the electric power system, which is the foundation of controlling harmonics and improving the power quality.Virtual instrument technology is the latest technology in the field of measurement and control. It has been proved a very effective method to apply the virtual instrument technology to the monitoring and analysis of power quality. On the basis of the power quality online monitoring device based on virtual instrument, this paper studies several methods of power quality network monitoring and analyzes their characteristics; then puts forward a new communication way adoptive of DataSocket technology, whose advantages of real-timing and simplicity offer a shortcut for the network transmission of data.
