The bearing capacity mechanism, which is about single pile, pile groups or cooperation of piles and pile caps affected by lateral load, has been studied for more than 50 years. Many references introduced all kinds of model experiments and full-size site experiments of the mechanism on the effect of lateral loads, discussed different calculating and analyzing methods and compared the results of experiments and calculation. But there are little such researches in China, and the major researches focus on the analyzing method about bearing lateral loads of single pile. Up to now, it has not been reported to study continuously the cooperation of large diameter cast-in-place piles and pile caps under lateral loads concerning to engineering actual testing data.Based on the design, construction and testing of foundation piles of the large span arc foot in Synthetic Sport Center of Tsinghua University, we systemically studied the bearing capacity mechanism of low pile groups caps loaded laterally. This research can help understand the behaviors loaded horizontally more deeply, optimize engineering design, improve construction quality and develop engineering test better. And it can also bring engineering economic benefit effectively. The thesis mainly includes:1.Reviewing the researching results and calculating methods of the bearing capacity mechanism of single pile, pile groups or cooperation of piles and pile caps affected under lateral loads.2.Based on the project of foundation piles of Tsinghua University, analyzing the testing data of single pile loaded laterally, which used m method recommended commonly and Wu Hengli double parameters method to calculate and compare the testing data.3.Developing the analysis of three-dimensional non-linear limited element analysis of pile-soil-pile caps cooperation. It discussed the effect on bearing capacity of group piles with piles geometric arrangement and the relative rigidity of pile-soil.4.Based on analyzing and comparing the experimental data, the calculation results, the m method, Wu Hengli double parameters method and the results of limited element analysis, giving reasonable suggestions in order to improve the working efficiency of pile groups.
