In this paper, the types and performance characteristics of commonly used superplasticizers, the research and application actualities of superplasticizers and aminosulfonic-based superplasticizer both in and outside China were introduced in detail. Based on the action mechanisms of superplasticizers, their synthesizing methods and development trends were also discussed.The parameters of synthesizing technology of traditional aminosulfonic-based superplasticizers were optimized through mono-factor method. According to those optimum parameters, the performances of product were improved. Based on the reaction principle of traditional aminosulfonic-based superplasticizers, the cheap modifier was added in the synthesizing process, so the production costs of superplasticizer ASH-JD can be decreased by 17%.The factors influencing on the performance of ASH-JD such as the Moore ratio of monomers, the reaction temperature and time, concentration, the pH value of reaction solution and the drippy speed of formaldehyde were studied carefully. Through experiments, the optimum level of those factors was gained.According to relative criteria, the performance of ASH-JD such as ratio of water-reducing, ratio of compressive strength, effect of enhancing strength, ratio of bleeding, air entrainment content, effect of keeping slump value, compatibility with cement, resistance to concrete shrinkage and damage by freezing and thawing and impermeability to water etc are all equal to the traditional aminosulfonic-based superplasticizers, and the ratio of performance to price is better than naphthalene series superplasticizers.
