Based on the Activated Sludge Model No. 1, and a sewer model, which was put forward by T.hvitved-Jacobsen in 1998, and combined with reactor principles, a sewage quality mathematical model was proposed in gravity sewer. The simulation program was developed in the computer language VB6.0. In the end, the simulation program could be used to simulate the variation of sewage quality in a steady sewer.Applying the simulation program to simulate possible variation of the component of sewage qulity in a sewer, the results showed that Ss and Xs decreased more rapidly, XBH increased more rapidly with the enhance of RO concentration and better transfering effection; and in the opposite situation, Ss can be reserved or increased, Xs decreased, XBH changed slightly.The program was used to simulate the sewage qulity in a sewer in Xi'an. For all components, relative difference of simulation data and real data is less then 5.0%. The real data accord with simulation data to large extent. This results showed the program can be used to simulate the variation of sewage qulity validly and exactly in a sewer which has the same characteristic with that sewer. Analysing the real data and simulation data Ss and Xs decreased apparently; XBH increased apparently; SNH, SND, and XND have little variation. The variation of sewage quality in a sewer is not benificial to denitrification and biological phosphorus removal at a subsequent treatment plant, and benificial to carban removal at a subsequent treatment sewage plant. The simulation results made referrence to the design of Urbar drainage system.
