The Study On The Traditional "Bao Zhai" Settlement In Shandong

The settlement of Bao Zhai(fort and stockade village)in northern China has the important architectural historiography meaning. However, there is less research about traditional Bao Zhai settlement in China now. On the other hand, Bao Zhai settlement is faced with the dangerous situation of extreme dwindlement because of the development of society and economy, and its plentifully historical culture information will elapse gradually too. Under such background, it has been very important to investigate the history evolution and current condition of Bao Zhai settlement.The paper is a part of northern Bao Zhai settlement study. The author selects Shandong province as research emphases, regards these rich and varied on-the-spot investigation data as the foundation, draws support from historical records, social chronicles, analyses historic relics and related data of to Bao Zhai settlement. The thesis is divided into six chapter:Chapter 1, the author discusses mainly definition and classification of Bao Zhai settlement, relationship with neighbor hood system. The study bases the important foundation on above facts.Chapter 2, the writer distributes the distributing rule and heritage of Bao Zhai settlement in Shandong in detail.Chapter 3 to Chapter 5, the author choices some representative examples to be analyzed by synthesis, and makes use of history, sociology, anthropology etc, reveals deep culture meaning of the typical individual cases.Finally, the paper combines the actual requirements, living environment and level of Bao Zhai settlement, and provides the strategies of protection exploitation.
