| Aiming at the superheater and reheater of boilers in power plants, this paper analyzes faults of equipment maintemance technology at present in our country, and puts forward Condition Based Maintenace(CBM) technology. With the development of correlative technology, especially equipment life management and expectancy technology, anaysis technology of dependability, status monitoring and fault diagnosis technology, and information management and policy decision techonoly, CBM has been a certain current in power plants. This paper emphatically researches the life expectancy technology that relates to CBM closely. Using the result of life expectancy, and adopting the achievement of the faults diagnosis technology, it develops an expert system for operation analysis of the superheater and reheater. This expert system can bring forward reasonable opinions to the problems in the operation process of the superheater and reheater.
