Under the situation of the present economic development and continuous deepening of the social revolution in our country, the urban space of characteristic and high quality is the high-level object that the modern urban design pursues. The regional urban design offer a brand-new visual angle. Namely, the practice of urban design based on regional elements, improves the quality of urban space, perfect the infrastructure. This thesis through the urban design of Wenhua road in Weihai city as the real project , make the research on how to build the urban characteristic in practice from two aspects that are the ambient urban environment around the road and the space environment of the road. The structure of this argument will be introduced as below :Chapter one: Put forward the research subject. Firstly, regard the situation of the current construction as the background in our country, And direct against the state of urban space development around the area of Wenhua road. Secondly, illuminate the meaning and purpose, so define the range, content and object, etc in the research.Chapter two: From the point of the ambient urban space around Wenhua road in Weihai city, The chapter discusses the research object.
