Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) is powered by Fuel Cell, which turns the chemical energy into electricity, and driven by the motor using the above electricity. FCEV overcomes the short driving distance disadvantage for normal EV, which powered only by battery. Compared with the Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle (ICEV) , FCEV is not restricted by Thermal Mechanism and Carnot Cycle and has a higher energy conversion efficiency and a better working condition. At the same time, the FCEV can also keep the same dynamic performance, top speed, long driving distance, driving security and comfort. It is considered as the first choice as a kind of clean and high efficient vehicle.The difference between the FCEV and the ICEV is that the powertrain of FCEV is composed of motor, fuel cell and battery, which replace the internal combustion engine and transmission in ICEV. In the development of FCEV, the key technologies about the powertrain are the most interesting target to most researchers and engineers. Therefore, it is very important to us to make a deep research about the structure and working principle of powertrain and how its performance will affect the vehicle performance.The FCEV introduced in this thesis is developed by the Wuhan University of Technology and Dong Feng Motor Company. In this thesis, the geometric models of powertrain components are constructed. The location of each component is determined by applying virtual assembling technology and the detailed fixing dimension is given according to the configuration scheme. After the implementation of the powertrain configuration, the mathematical models of main powertrain components are constructed by applying software ADVISOR and the simulation results of each component are given according to the vehicle performance simulation results by using software ADVISOR. In the mathematical modeling of powertrain components, the working principle and modeling process of each component is discussed. By the application of themathematical modeling based on MATLAB language and the ADVISOR simulation platform, the detailed prowertrain simulation result is given. Based on the simulation result, the research of the hybrid power character of the FCEV is discussed and the fuel economy and dynamics performance in different hybridization are compared. The beneficial range of the hybridization is then given based on the comparision results.#...
