With the economy of china developing promptly, lack of water resources in some area is becoming a serious problem. As a main method of resolving the problem, diversion and supply of water resource are becoming more and more important, and multi-stage pumping stations play important role in water transfer project.But multi-stage pumping stations consume a lot of energy. It is important for reducing power expenditure to increase pump station's efficiency and get economical and safe operation. An operation decision method for multi-stage pumping station system with adjustable-blade propeller pump is presented. It includes optimal water level of individual stage of pumping station and optimal operation method of every pump. The paper describes some mathematical models and decision makingtechnique of multi-stage pumping station.
