The first part of this paper is about protection of stator ground fault in generator. Tobegin with, this part introduces the research achievements and research orientation ongenerator protection, then, makes thorough analyses on the fault law of generator statorground fault. Secondly, a new integrated criterion of generator stator ground protectionbased on pattern recognition, which subjection coefficient is determined by geneticalgorithm, is proposed. Thirdly, digital simulation of generator stator ground fault byElectromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) is used to test the performance of protectionscheme. The following part in the dissertation is concerned about the software design ofrelay protection setting calculation and management system of generator protection. Thisintricate system is decomposed into different subsystems with relatively independentfunctions.
