At present the information acquired by the fault diagnose of power system is mainly from the SCADA system. The SCADA system can provide switch and protection messages when the fault occurs in the power system. By a particular method of forward reasoning stated in my thesis, we can find several likely fault lines just by using switch and protection messages from the SCADA system. Furthermore, these several likely fault lines can be arranged in order according to their fault probability. Subsequently, we can obtain from 0 to 2 lines after matching with knowledge base in the process of backward reasoning which is the last result. In those several lines acquired after the forward reasoning, the last result usually is the fault line in the power system. And those lines included in the several lines but not in the last result should be considered as important reference lines.While the complex fault occurs in the power system or uncertain factors appear, such as mal-operation, non-operation and missing messages on account of channel disturbance,we can also acquire the effect stated as above by using the forward and backward reasoning stated in my thesis.
