The Reinforced concrete two way slabs structure is a widely used structure form, but the study of its elastic plastic performance and calculating method is not enough. In this paper, the traditional elastic and plastic theories are described, and then the R.C. nonlinear constitutive relations are discussed for analyzing the stress distribution, the appearance and development of the cracks, as well as the behavior of the boundary conditions of the two way slabs respectively. In the light of the experimental research on R.C. two way slabs under static loading, the behavior of yield line, the load deformation curves and the crack yield, plastic limit loads of slabs with different supporting conditions are studied.According to the mechanism of yield line and the analysis of the engineering calculating result, the formulation of design, application and numerical computing method about the R.C. two way slabs have been put forward. And then the limit analysis and limit design method applied to the R.C two way slabs are utilized to solute a number of practical problem. Finally, some feasible conclusion is drawn that the design methods are all safe and satisfactory.
