The thesis studies the quantization of the geological division and geographical information system, and develops the development of geotechnical exploration information management system. The main contents are as follows:First, according the theory of random fields, the correlation distance is attained and the precision is compared and studied, as a result the precision meets the practice. In this distance, the unknown bore is forecasted by choosing known bores.Second, the principal components of every layer are attained, by using the way of principal component analysis and the cluster analysis. And then bores are grouped. The differential bores are met when we forecast the unknown bores, which makes the forecasting precision in trouble, so we need divide the bores. And then principal component analyzing and cluster analyzing, bores are divided. This is called the quantization of the engineering geological division.Last, according the correlation distance of the random fields and the division, the information management system of geotechnical exploration is developed, which can query and forecast the geotechnical parameters. It includes three-dimensionally analysis, the section analysis and the trend surface analysis. There are some functions of the program of Mapinfo too.
