Pre-stressed steel structure with rationally mechanical characteristics and greatprospect is attached importance by the people. Beam String Structure is new type oflong-span pre-stressed steel structure is developed recently, composed of string, strutand moment- resistant element such as beam, arch, is a self-balance with metrics ofrationally mechanical characteristics, convenience of execution and transportation.Beam String Structure will have great prospect. Because of prestress is applied, thestiffness of Beam String Structure is strengthen greatly, size of section is diminishedobviously. But the stability of the structure is no ignore.The long-span Beam StringStructure is applying only just of enters in our country. There are two typicalengineering, one is the passenger corridor of the Shanghai Pudong Internationalairport that have accomplished and in use, the other is steel roof of the exhibition hall,Guangzhou International Convention& Exhibition Center is building. The paper issupported by national nature science foundation and Beijing nature sciencefoundation In this paper, at first, analyses of stability is effected by the the component ofBeam String Structure. In the course, the effect of number of stay bar, ratio of sagand span, ratio of height and span and stress of string, that is for stability. Therelation of stability and the component of Beam String Structure is analyzed at last. The stability of Beam String Structure can be classified two, one is localstability, other is global stability. The global stability include stability in-plane andstability out-plane. The stability of stay bar can be versified according to standard ofaxis bar. The string must be tension every time through arrange of structure. Thestability of arch can be verified according to standard of press and bend. About the IIglobal stability, in this paper, Beam String Structure is simplified to the archwithelastic sustain. The in-plane stability is verified by primary parameter method. Thetheory is correctly and feasibility, compare to the result that ANSYS come out. Thestability out of the plane is analyzed with the method that Germany criterion use andliterature recommend. The method is rationality and practicability, through theexample verify.
