Many buildings have been set up with the development of town and increasingof population. Fire safety in underground buildings has been increasingly regarded.Fire control faces a lot of difficulties because of some difference betweenunderground buildings and ground buildings. Underground building is very important with the exploiting of undergroundspaces as a using shape. At the same time it is difficulty to control fire in case of firebecause fire load is very large especially in underground commercial building . A lot of fire cases prove that smoke make the people toxic and smothery .Inaddition, rapid flow of smoke with high temperature gives rise to prompt spread offire. Therefore, smoke exhaust system need to be made in order to control smokeeffectively. In underground commercial building, the effect of smoke control is worthdiscussing due to high test cost though codes provide design principles about smokeexhaust in our country. At one time, some items do not adapt to fire safety with thedevelopment of architecture technology. In the paper, computational fluid dynamics (CFX) is used to simulate the effectof smoke flow and smoke control for determined geometric model according to thefeatures of underground commercial building. Qualitative and quantitative analysis isalso given combined with fire protection regulation in our country. The law of smoke movement is opened out in the case of natural filling of smokethrough simulating and it is qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed how fire powerand building height affect smoke. Simulation is also finished for requisite exchangeflow and air flow in terms of various boundary and geometric model when smokecontrol system is operated. valuable results are gained and it is studied how smokeflow and air flow affect effectiveness of smoke exhaust. Study results make up theshortness of code for fire protection of building and provide some instruction and helpfor smoke control design and safety evacuation in underground commercial building.
