By reason of enlarging useful chamber area, lightweight and according with the direction of wall material reformation, the frame structures with special-shaped R.C. columns are applied more and more widely in recent years. The paper processes nonlinear analysis of complete response process for arbitrary shaped L, T, Z-shaped and "+" cross-section R.C. columns under axial compression and biaxial bending. On the basis of related papers, the full path of stress-strain relation of concrete and the restriction effect for concrete by thickening of stirrups are all considered. The influence of loading angles, axial compression ratio and ratio of hooped reinforcement are analyzed. A computer program for a full range of analysis of special-shaped columns is compiled. By the analytical results, 'M-', 'M-N' and 'Mx-My' related curves are obtained, and differences of ductile behavior and bearing capacity are analyzed.At last this paper analyses some special-shaped section columns subjected to biaxialy loading using finite element program ANSYS7.0, compares of analytical results, investigates the ductile behavior and bearing capacity of special-shaped R.C. columns. The reliability of analytical program compiled in the paper is verified.
