In this dissertation we had an analysis of experimental results for the number 2 engine sets in Lian City Power Plant and came to the several major factors leading to a low thermal efficiency.Among them the low relative inner efficiency less than the set value plays the most important role.That the condenser vacuum is below the design value is of the second importance and the difference more than the set value between the top and the bottom in the number 5 high pressure heater's and number 6's is another important factor.In the paper we had a detailed analysis for the reasons resulting in the above factors and did quantitative calculation to get an idea of to what extent each factor influences the sets' efficiency.Meanwhile we brought out concrete optimization schemes to several factors and analysed them from technic and economics to prove that they are not only practical in technic and are adoptable in economic.Among them we carried out the optimization scheme for the number 5 and number 6 high pressure heater, did calculations of the effect after transformations through quantitive calculation of thermal system and had a evaluation of its economic efficiency.At last we had a comparison of the transformation's investment and its efficiency from technic and economic and proved the scheme are not only practical in technic but also economical and reasonable.
