ACEM(ac-excited-machine)have many excellent characteristics, it may improve the stability of electric power system, its rotor rotate speed may variable, it can't lose step even operate in deep lead phase, it especially applied in pumped-storage hydraulic power plant and wind power generation. It is an important research field in power system. In this paper, the mathematic model of ACEM and the stator flux oriented vector control strategy are studied; a detail analysis of the static state stability of the ac-excited generator and the law of static state stability at any slip are presented. For the rotor power directional flowing, the dual PWM converter is studied deeply; The simulation platform of ACEM system is established, which is base on MATLAB/SIMULINK, through various simulations, it can be concluded that the stator flux oriented vector control strategy can control active and reactive power independently and adjust frequency of power system when ACEM applied in pumped-storage hydraulic power plant.
