The interconnect network makes low-frequency oscillation more and the increasing DC brings new subjects for stability analysis. The most effective method of damping the oscillation is to install power system stabilizer (PSS) and direct current modulation (DCM). But PSS (DCM) designed to a certain mode will produce bad effect to other modes. To this, combining feature of oscillation of AC/DC and the effect of PSS and DCM to different modes, the paper proposes using the GA based on sensitivity to get all controller parameters. The damp of low frequency oscillation can get the best effect by using sensitivity to instruct the mutation. To reduce the calculation time, the floating code is adopted. IEEE 4-machine-11-node system and an actual system prove the validity of the proposed algorithm of coordinating parameters of PSS and DCM.
