| Along with the development of the theory of Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI), CAI software doesn't keep up with the theory of CAI. The reason is that persons engaged in programming knows a few knowledge of other specialties, and that persons engaged in other specialties is afraid of programming.On the other hand, the requirement of CAI software of structural mechanics is very large; and the frequency of CAI software of structural mechanics is very high. Because CAIsoftware can be used to inspire students' interest and improve quality of teaching, it has been an indispensable tool in modern teaching.It is serious in civil engineering also. Aimed at this problem, the characters of structural mechanics are analyzed in this thesis, and a program that is used to draw diagram is wrote with Visual C++. All figures are in controls. After a control is clicked, a dialog box is to be popped up, and then some parameters must be chosen. At last, the figure is drawn in the right window; the properties of the figure are showed in the left window.The method of Object Oriented is adopted in the software, and then the properties of figures are distilled and encapsulated, such as support, beam and load. The figures are drawn with the theory of computer graphics. The figures those are drawn can be modified.With the help of the software, it is more convenient of teaching structural mechanics. And figures can be copied toe-books. It is more convenient than AutoCAD.Of course, there are some defects those are to be perfected in the software.
