Discovery And Creation Using Phenomenology Of Architecture To Analysis How To Create "Genius Loci" In Architecture Design

The Phenomenology of Architecture is based on the Phenomenology created by Edmund Husserl and the Existentialism of Martin Heidegger. In general, the Phenomenology is a method and an attitude of thought. The spirit of the theory is "face to the thing" and to discover the fact. While, "finding the world and people" is it's goal.The Phenomenology of Architecture means seeking the essence and understanding the significance of architecture. "Space" and "Genius Loci" is the key word and the crux of Christian Norberg-Schulz's theory. Architecture design is to create "Genius Loci", to make our living form and meanings display in a definite and powerful way.The course of architecture design is the combination of discovery and creation, that is the course of reason combined with sensibility. Architects should have strong sense of "Genius Loci" to explore the sprite of the site, bring these factors into consideration in design, and come up to the perfect mergence of architecture and environment at last.The sense of "Genius Loci" includes many aspects: the integrate of architecture and urban design, mergence of natural environment, continuance of local context, molding ofspecial space, caring for the people's feeling......A great deal of modern architects andrecent active architects both in internal and foreign provide many kinds of methods for creating more and more glorious lived world.At first, the paper expatiates the theory of the Phenomenology and the Phenomenology of Architecture in the first part: from Edmund Husserl's theory and the Existentialism of Martin Heidegger; and the grope for the fact of the architecture to the Norberg-Schulz and Steven HolPs and the others theory.In the second part, the thesis tries to analyze separately in natural space, artificial environment, peculiarity and space.
