Genius Loci Molding Of Water-enjoyable-space On Urban Waterfront Area

The construction of the urban waterfront has an important meaning for the development ofthe city, the construction of urban characteristic and the improvement of the urbanenvironment, and the water-enjoyable-space of waterfront as a place which the most intimaterelations between urban landscape and water environment. It is not only the key of the urbanwaterfront construction, but also the livable way which satisfies the need of closing water ofpeople and creates a comfortable living environment. This paper combines Genius Loci theoryand design of waterfront, from the point of view of the space users to analyze the research,fully respect and support the need of people in water-enjoyable-space of function and mentallevel of demand, in order to getting people to the space with the sense of belonging, formingthe place spirit of water-enjoyable-space.Research methods of this paper includes literatureresearch, field survey, questionnaire and inductive analysis. It also combines theoreticalresearch with design case in order to use the theory of place to analysis and summarize forspecific project design, and put forward feasible countermeasure to the problem. In the processfurther validation and the theoretical feasibility, and strengthen the guiding significance oftheory study in the actual operation.The key of the construction of place spirit is that designers should grasp in the placedesign and construction process for site characters, and the understanding and utilization toplace connotation, only fully understands the original of the unique historical culture, socialatmosphere, space environment, can use this potential spiritual qualities of the design ofconcrete means show come out, promoting the exchange and integration of space users andplaces.
