This research expatiates on experimental study of the study lighting, conducted with 24 lighting schemes provided for simulating relaxation or amusement, guest entertainment and working or studying activities respectively, and specific recommendation of the illuminance levels for various activities in the residential study are proposed. In addition, the paper evaluates and analyzes 5 lighting schemes of the different luminance ratio and the different color temperature in the working region, and to analyze the correlation among lighting environment, physiology and psychology of the person, fatigue by the subjective evaluation method and the physiological analysis of HRV. Finally, illuminance levels and luminance levels that the reasonable, comfortable, healthy artificial lighting of study needs given quantitative analysis.By this research we found that the proper illuminance levels should be adopted to artificial lighting according to the various activities and the various function in the residential study. The various lighting patterns and the various color temperature can create the different environmental atmosphere. Generally, there are general lighting and local lighting in residential study. Illuminance levels of general lighting is 75 ~ 100~1501x, and that of local lighting is 200~300~5001x. Light sources with warm color temperature are suitable for the residential study, but color temperature of Light sources can be changed according to the individual favors. Luminance ratio of the work region in the study is not too big. If the luminance ratio is over big, it can make incitement to eyes, and make visual organs tired and nervous, more worse, can produce the glare. The frequency domain index on short-time HRV used for the evaluation on the working fatigue that caused by the lighting environment shows remarkable variety.
