This paper presents the structural design, interior ballistic experiment and numerical simulation of the floating engine in individual rocket launching tube. The main points are as follows:1) Structural design and experiment researchThe whole structural layout and the parts that constitute the engine have been designed according to the technical target. Then, the interior ballistic experiments with static equipment and the artillery launch device were carried out. The parameters which affecting the character of the floating engine were studied. The systematic design scheme was perfected on the foundation of experiment theoretical research.2) Theoretical researchBased on the classic interior ballistic theory and gas dynamics theory, the classical and gas dynamics model of the floating launch system have been established. The parameter' s effect to the interior ballistic character of the floating launch system was researched from theory aspect. The optimization work of design was carried out, according to theoretical research result. Then, the corresponding calculation program was drawn up. Some laws about the launching character caused by changing some parameters were gained. Theoretical result shows the launch system be put forward in the paper can satisfy the requirement of the character well. The scheme is feasible.
