To reduce the electric energy waste in electric power grid and save energy source always is the work emphases in all levels power supplying and using departments in China because reducing the electric energy waste could reduce using power expenditure in using power units, could reduce manufacture cost to advance using power efficiency and society benefits, could reduce capability investment of generating electricity and power supplying equipments in electric power units. So to calculate theoretical line loss in reason and calculate statistical line loss in order to formulate the check index for line loss and effectual measures to reduce line loss and make them known to lower levels always is the work emphases of line loss management.In this paper aimed at the characteristics of line loss management, something about the calculation of line loss, analysis about line loss and measures to reduce line loss has been studied in the paper.(1) At first in order to prevent the action of consumer stealing electrical power, the paper bring forward the measure of the most line loss value calculation in distribution grid after comparing manifold measures of theoretical line loss calculation. In succession the paper advance the check index and check measures to judge if the action of consumer stealing electrical power happening in distribution grid using most line loss value; in case the check result is that the action of consumer stealing electrical power has happened, the paper put forward the measure of the part most line loss value calculation to judge the position of the action of consumer stealing electrical power happened.(2) In the next place applying theory of the sensitivity analysis of comparatively increment analysis, the paper calculate the sensitivity of the variational line loss in distribution grid responded to the voltage, power factor, reactive power and analytic the degree of the voltage, power factor, reactive power influencing on the variational line loss in distribution grid, then the paper comes to the conclusion that is although the sensitivities of the variational line loss in distribution grid responded to the voltage, power factor are more than the sensitivity of reactive power, the effect to reduce line loss by adjusting the reactive power is more marked than by adjusting the voltage and power factor because the variation range of voltage and power factor is less.(3) At last applying the result of sensitivity analysis of comparatively increment the paper advance the measure to calculate real-time line loss named variational line loss of durative burthen calculation measure. The characteristics of this measure are that it compartmentalizes the period of time of tradition month calculation of variational line lossinto more periods, so it substitutes the area of load curve with more and denser area of each day rectangle. Data of this measure to calculate comes from the data collection of power energy system. As a result this measure has reliable data source and more precise. The variational line loss of durative burthen calculation measure could be applied for real-time line loss calculation.(4) According to the sensitivities of the variational line loss in distribution grid responded to the voltage, power factor and reactive power, the paper put forward the measures to reduce line loss: That which could be looked as the measure to reduce line loss, to increase the voltage or reduce it is determined by the percents of invariable line loss and variational line loss in whole line loss of distribution grid; to adjust reactive power should be first-line measure to reduce variational line loss in distribution grid.
