Energy losses calculation with reasonably accuracy is a powerful tool for electricity department to find the components of losses and the corresponding measures of losses reduction.With the development of subjects,some new calculation methods of energy losses have been proposed,and some new methods of other subjects have been employed to calculate the energy losses.But a lot of these methods are not suitable to the actual systems,and they mostly remain in the stage of theoretical research.In the days when automation is not used so widely,it is important to calculation estimate the line loss.So energy losses calculation method of practical significance is still a topic that can't be ignored.In this paper,the methods of energy losses calculation have been compared and analyzed,focusing on the requirements,characteristics,scope of application and so on.Then,the improved equivalent capacity method for dealing with the impact of small generations in energy losses calculation is proposed.On the base of analysis traditional method,when the direction of power at the feeder source end is converse and changing,using the traditional method would lead to error result.In the proposed method,one day is separated into several time durations(such as 24 hours),so that the direction of power at the feeder source end for each time duration is invariable.The equivalent resistance and energy loss for each time duration is calculated,and the summation of all energy loss will lead to the energy loss for one day.The revised method shows better performance in experiments.Then,in this paper two practical methods to reduce loss reduction of grid are researched,and examples are used to prove their effectiveness.The great economic benefits of are analyzed,which reactive power compensation and Soft Normally Open Points(SNOP)combined with TS besides transformers bring.This brings examples to the lines in the whole distribution grid,which is meaningful technically.
