Condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of machinery is the important component of plant management & maintenance. Because of the rapid development of science and technology, new requirement is put forward to condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of machinery: the separation between the technology resource and enterprise need be solved in order to diagnose the machinery fault fleetly and accurately. Therefore, the technology of remote fault diagnosis has become the research focus of numerous experts and scholars.A integrated plant maintenance and management system for process CIMS is designed and the technology of CSCW is introduced briefly in this thesis. And based on these points, a new mode of remote fault diagnosis, namely the remote cooperative diagnosis, is studied emphatically.The remote cooperative diagnosis is described overallly; the relation between it and CSCW is expounded; the functions of the remote cooperative diagnosis system are also founded.In order to construct the remote cooperative diagnosis platform, the demand model and the analytical model based on Unified Modeling Language are built from the system modeling viewpoint. These models form the direction template for the sequential design and implementation of the remote cooperative diagnosis platform.At last, after two key technology, including IP multicast and communication of multi-media based on RTP, is researched deeply, a prototype of the remote cooperative diagnosis platform is set up, which realizes partial functions of the remote cooperative diagnosis system.
