In this paper, an intelligent controller using both neural network and fuzzy control is developed for the prevailing large-scale wind turbine type: active stall and pitch control. First, working characteristics of wind turbine for this type are investigated. Then two different control strategies in two different running status are studied. And then the controller is fully designed without having the idea of the very precise model of the wind turbine. Yet, the objectives to maintain stability and energy yield optimization are satisfied. And another notable point of this controller is the capability of self-learning. The paper also deduces the availability of the controller in practical industrial systems in the software of Matlab.
