Part library is an important part of CAD software. Thinking of that 3D graphic software having been used broadly now, an original system of 3D part library is researched and developed by author for mechanical product design, and which getting elementary success. 3D part library is a complicated system integrating various kinds of software techniques, including feature model, parameter driving and database technology, etc. Based on the functions analysis of 3D part library, the theory of parameter mapping style and relevant realization methods is emphatically discussed in this paper, the flow to set up parameter mapping in part library is given, the difficulties in dynamically amending parameter mapping is analyzed and the relevant solving methods are presented.During the design and development, the Object-Oriented modeling and design method are adopted, which better solving the problem of various of parts and complicated relations in part library, so as to make the structure clear, and available to organize and realize. There are six chapters in this paper: The first chapter is preface part, in which the developing status of and related techniques are introduced, and the main topic of this thesis is presented. The second chapter analyzes the function and requirement for part library. In the third chapter, the structure and whole scheme are designed. In the forth chapter, the specific realization methods are expounded and the key techniques are discussed. The fifth chapter is a case, which displays how to use and operate this part library by a small-scale mould. In the last chapter, the summary and prospect are listed.
