Development Of Standard Part Library Based On Pro/Engineer

Standard components are often involved in the process of mechanic design, which is extremely trivial and time-consuming, as-it required frequent reference to data in variety of manuals. In practice, CAD system requires a standard part library for users, through secondary development, which enables users to search and find out standard components they need. Consequently, the efficiency of mechanical design is greatly improved and complexity reduced.To meet the requirements in common mechanical designing, by making use of data in Access database, retrieving data by the method of ODBC (Open Database Connectivity), utilizing Pro/Toolkit in Pro/E and VC++, the interactive and visual designing framework of MFC has made possible full integration of DLL (Dynamic Link Library) and three-dimensional parameter modeling programming designing on Pro/E. It is a standard system based on Pro/E platform. By using the efficient human-machine interface, users can quickly find out the standard components they need. This thesis will elaborate the principles through three typical standard components. Through the simple component bolt, the thesis-will-explain-the principle of parameter modeling and process of database programming by means of ODBC. Through-assembly-module bearing composed of several standard components, the thesis will explain the basic parameter of assembly body bearing and the sub-components parameter transmission process. Through the quite complex components gear, the thesis will discuss the skills of parameter modeling basically.The follows are characteristics of this Standard Part Library:Firstly, through dialog box, users can choose the values of parameters easily and it is not required reference to data in variety of manuals. And the name of part generates automatically.Secondly, User Interface is friendly, according with the habit of user.Thirdly, all data from machine design manual, the users can expediently modify data of Access database.
