In order to protect the ozone layer and maintain the living environment of the human being, China is actively engaged in the phasing out of halon 1211 and halon 1301 according to the requirements of "MONTREAL PROTOCOL ON SUBSTANCES THAT DEPLETE THE OZONE LAYER" and its amendment. Most of the halon 1211 and 1301 products have been used in gas fire extinguishing system, therefore, it is very urgent for the researchers who specialize in gas fire extinguishing system to work out the substitute plan for the current status of gas fire extinguishing system, to develop and use reasonable halon substitutes. At present, the substitutes used internationally for fixed halon fire extinguishing system include HFC-227ea, HFC-23, IG-541 and NAGS-III .From the aspect of substituting halon 1301 and 1211 fire extinguishing systems and based on the analysis of system design parameters, the function of the components as well as the system structure, the paper focused on the study of the cylinder, container valve, check valve and nozzle of the heptfluoride propane fire extinguishing system in general and the container valve and nozzle in particular so as to reduce the volume fraction of the decomposition product HF.100 m3 lab for testing the assembly property of the system has been set up. The meters measuring oxygen volume fraction, temperature and pressure and computer data collection system have been used to test the general properties of using heptfluoride propane to attack class A and class B fires, and at the same time, to collect basic data for the calculation of pipe network fluid so as to provide reference for the preparation of some related standards and codes. The experiment results for heptfluoride propane to suppress class A and class B fires showed that the halon substitute—heptfluoride propane fire extinguishing system developed by Tianjin Fire Research Institute of MPS meet the requirements of the related international standard in terms of fire agent discharge time, volume fraction control of the decomposition product as well as the drop amplitude of the oxygen volume fraction. |
