The dissertation combining the design and research of the concrete deck & rock-fill dam of Jiudianxia hydroelectric project on the Taohe river in Gansu province, applying artifice of experiments and calculations, etc, studies the feasibility of constructing concrete deck & rock-fill dam on profound overburden riverbed and the rationality of the project treatment measures that have been taken.(1) The preliminary scheme is worked out after a comparative study of the data collected from many similar concrete deck & rock-fill dams all over the world as well as a detailed investigation of the specific conditions of the profound layers on the dam site of Jiudianxia hydroelectric project.(2) The project arrangement of the concrete deck & rock-fill dam, structure design of the dam and toe sheet, and the concrete deck design of the dam is completed according to the design standard, purpose, and project scale as well as the landform and geologic conditions on the dam site. In the dessertation, many alternative schemes are also proposed, focusing on the specific conditions of the profound overburden riverbed. Then a comprehensive comparasion between the alternative schemes is made as well.(3) Through hole drilling on the dam site, the physical and mechanical characteristics of the riverbed layer and the components of the layer material are studied. The bearing power, degree of compaction and permeability of the profund overburden riverbed are further verified by side press and gravitational experiments. The granulometric gradation and strength parameter of overburden are also researched by the ways of field sampling on similar position and chamber experiment. Then the compactness postulate and roller parameter of embankment material are researched by blasting test and roller test on site. Finally, the static and dynamic calculation parameters of the three-dimensional finite element of the dam are confirmed through laboratory compression test and triaxial test on the embankment material.(4) By analyzing and calculating the two-dimensional finite element of a typical dam section, the stress-strain of the dam, the load condition of deck, and the safety and stability of the slope are studied. On such a basis, by the way of static and dynamic analysis of the three-dimensional finite element, the dissertation further verifies the better joint scheme of the riverbed flat slab and toe sheet (flexibile joint and rigid joint), and feasibility of the imperyious core structure. It has also studied the influence of the construction sequence of imperyious core and fill of dam on deck structure, sealing structure and imperyious core structure so that a reasonable and feasible construction scheme can be selected. Finally, the dissertation makes a study of the deformation of peripheral joint and vertical joint so that reasonable sealing measures can be taken.
