The anti-rolling tank is one of the most popular used stabilizing equipments, and it especially fits for ships working at zero speed or low speed. Test rolling table is an analogue equipment, which simulates the motions of a ship disturbed by the wave force, and it serves as the simulating bench for performance testing of the anti-rolling tank.The paper is based on the item the anti-rolling tank test setup among the school 211 key construction projects. Control method of controlled passive tank and correlation technique of simulation of the test rolling table are investigated mainly.To simulate the roll angle which the wave exerts on the ship much accurately, this paper designed an electro-hydraulic position servo system to simulate this kind of motion. First, models of electro-hydraulic servo valve, gear-rack swing hydraulic-pressure oil vat and angle sensor are selected, the transfer function of electro-hydraulic position servo system is presented and the system parameters are gained. At the same time, the simulation of system is studied. Then, the application of PID control, optimal control and pole assignment method in the electro-hydraulic servo system are all developed. The simulation results show that these control strategies are effective. The experiment of position system account for it can meet the command of tracking.Based on the general control strategy of controlled passive tank, the optimal control is brought forward, and the implementation approach is presented. Aim at different frequencies, the author do some simulation analysis of optimal control method. The results showed that the stabilization effects of the optimal one is perfect.
