According to the development of intelligence assist device (IAD) , the mechanism design and control system of power assist Jib Crane were introduced in this paper. The power assist Jib Crane is a kind of typical mechatronics system, and it is applied widely in material convey and assembly lines, so it is worth of developing.Power assist Jib Crane is an articular architecture. DC motor driving system was applied for material lifting mechanism, so it posesses the feature of "zero force operation" for load lifting. The architecture design, calculation of mechanical parameters, analysis of working space, and DC motor driving system were completed; The motor modeling and PI controller were built up, and simulation results were given. In terms of the requirement of zero force operation, the main program and the hardware of AVR8535 MCU system were also designed.
